Are all financial advisors in Los Angeles, CA fiduciaries?
No — and in a city of 3.8 million, the range runs from genuine fiduciaries to commission salespeople with rented suites and impressive lobbies. The title "financial advisor" carries no legal weight anywhere in California; the word fiduciary carries all of it. A fiduciary must put your interests first at all times and disclose every conflict. A broker or insurance agent generally must not sell you something unsuitable — a much lower bar, cleared by a lot of expensive products.
Aduna Capital is a registered investment adviser and fiduciary at all times, fee-only, with fees published below. One minute at adviserinfo.sec.gov verifies us; the same minute verifies or unmasks anyone else.
Who we work with in Los Angeles
Honesty first: no single page can cover the nation's second-largest city, and we will not pretend this one does. Los Angeles runs on entertainment, apparel, logistics, healthcare and professional services across nearly 4 million people — median household income $81,939, 47.2% Hispanic or Latino — and any firm claiming to "serve LA" from one office is really serving some part of it. Ours is the southeast corridors: the neighbourhoods and industrial districts closest to our Norwalk office, 13.4 miles from the city's heart, plus clients citywide who are content to meet by video or make the drive.
- Southeast LA working households. The corridors between downtown and the county line are dense with the families this firm was built for: first-generation savers, often bilingual households, opening first accounts with no minimum in the way.
- LAUSD educators and public employees. The district's teachers are CalSTRS members; city and county workers carry CalPERS and LACERA benefits. All three systems involve once-only elections that deserve modelling before they are made. Start here.
- Small employers across the city's trades. Apparel, logistics, food service, auto repair — the state retirement mandate reaches every one of them with a single employee. CalSavers for Los Angeles employers covers deadlines, penalties and the alternatives.
For downtown specifically — the Fashion District, the law firms, the startups — we keep a separate, more honest page: Financial Advisor in Downtown Los Angeles.

Where we meet Los Angeles clients
Our office is in Norwalk, not Los Angeles — our principal office, with no satellite pins, no borrowed conference-room addresses:
Aduna Capital LLC
12838 Rosecrans Ave, Norwalk, CA 90650
(657) 571-2607
From the southeast corridors the 5 and the 605 bring you to Rosecrans; from farther out, video is usually the sane choice. That is roughly 13.4 miles from Los Angeles, and we would rather say so plainly than imply a local presence we do not have. Clients at this distance work with us three ways: at the Norwalk office, on Rosecrans between Pioneer and Studebaker with parking on site; at your business or workplace, which is how most employer retirement-plan work happens anyway; or by video, which many people prefer for everything after a first in-person meeting. Evening appointments are available whichever you choose.
Common questions from Los Angeles
Can a Norwalk firm really serve Los Angeles?
Parts of it, honestly — the southeast corridors near us in person, and the rest of the city by video plus occasional in-person meetings. What we will not do is scatter map pins across LA neighbourhoods to look local. If you want an adviser within walking distance of your block, we are probably not it; if you want a fee-only fiduciary with published fees, distance rarely matters.
I teach for LAUSD. What should I check before I retire?
Three things, in order: which CalSTRS benefit structure covers you, what each survivor option costs and protects, and what the 403(b) sitting beside your pension actually charges. The first two are permanent once elected. We model all three; we are not affiliated with LAUSD or CalSTRS.
¿Hablan español?
Sí — casi la mitad de Los Ángeles es hispana o latina, y atendemos en ambos idiomas: llamadas, reuniones y documentos. Nuestra página en español está aquí.
I run a small business in the city. Does the CalSavers mandate apply to me?
If you employ at least one person, yes — register with the state program or sponsor a qualified plan and certify an exemption. Penalties for ignoring it reach $750 per eligible employee. We run the register-versus-sponsor arithmetic at no charge.
Do you charge more for clients farther away?
No. The fee is the same published 1.5%–2.0% of assets managed wherever you live in California, and video meetings cost what every meeting costs: nothing extra.
